Not always, exemptions may exist. While most mold inspectors profit from writing remediation protocols, upsell sampling, and conducting remediation clearance testing , we see this as a potential issue —and frankly, can be a bit of a scam. Ultimately, a Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC), is called a “Consultant” for a reason, situations vary and In Texas, there are choices until a certain point in the process. We provide understanding of situations and rights, with options , so you can trust that our assessments are unbiased and in your best interest. This way you are fully engaged and rightly a part of your decision making process.

Q:  My Mold Remediation Company has already assessed, tested or claim they can assess or test for mold , is this Truthful?

Not in Texas, The Texas Mold Laws (TMARR) documentation directly forbids conflicts of interest or even the appearance of conflict. A Mold Remediation Company can also have Mold Assessment Licenses, but Not acceptable to do Mold Testing and Mold Remediation on the Same Project, so what’s the point or intent?

🤷

There is something in the IICRC handbook that allows for a remediation company to do a “Preliminary Determination” . Be aware , that seems like a slippery slope.

Q:  What is an honest mold inspection anyway?

Most mold inspection companies lure you in with a low price over the phone, only to raise it once they’re on-site. We do things differently by offering one straightforward, all-inclusive price upfront.

Q:  How do people become ill from mold?

Surprisingly, many people don’t get sick from the mold itself but from its byproducts—such as mold volatile organic compounds (VOCs), mycotoxins, endotoxins, proteins, and other substances.

This explains why some people don’t get sick from mold, even when there’s a large area of mold growth—because no byproducts are being produced. Similarly, others may become ill even when no visible mold growth is present. That’s why you need an expert who truly understands this.

Q: Does removing mold help improve illness?

Many mold inspectors find mold, and their clients end up spending thousands of dollars on remediation, only to see no improvement in their health symptoms. Why? Because the inspector often only knows how to find mold and recommend its removal, without the necessary education or experience in industrial hygiene. As surprising as it may sound, people can be exposed to mold without visible growth. We understand how this can happen.
